Matthew Feyld hails from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and creates graphically bold paintings involving the struggles of his intricately detailed big-headed characters who often wear masks, birthday party hats, fight with swords and shed tears all over their nice argyle sweaters. Bold fields of color make up the barren, lonely landscapes in which these people inhabit as they frolic about, jumping on trampolines and growing trees out of their chests. Julien Langendorff is an artist from Paris, France who combines raw pen and ink drawings with esoteric stream of conscious poetry that is both sincere and haunting. Spirits of the dead rise, furry animals exclaim their discontent with the universe and love is lost in a rainstorm. For this show, he has been collaborating on a series of work with artist and musician David Herman Dune, also from France. Together they have created a body of work that effortlessly flows between the 2 artists' hands, combining both of their similar styles of text and imagery into a single spirited voice. Jo Dery arrives to us from Providence, RI, where she has been living and making prints, comics, music and animations. Jo will be presenting a brand new animation with her unique paper cut style inside of a sculpture, in addition to embroideries and silkscreened prints. Jo's work involves brightly colored plants, hyenas, and snails living in magical worlds but still dealing with the everyday problems that we can all relate to.
