TeamLump is a group of artists that gather around Lump gallery/projects. Each artist in the group shares a fresh approach towards crafting their own individual styles while still functioning as a cohesive unit. The work spans from bling drenched kudzu cut-outs, to crude aluminum-foil superhero sculptures. A furry Mr. T bust blends with AIDS hysteria that oozes out eighties nostalgia. TeamLump will be exhibiting painting, video, drawing, soft sculpture, and mixed-media works. TeamLump comes to Cinders by way of Raleigh, NC. The artists are made up of a diverse group who have all shown at Lump in the past and help make up the gallery's current identity. This gallery exchange is inspired by the cultural differences of the North and the South, the idea of "Us against Them" in personal and political realms, and our respective "Teams" playing at each other's galleries in a friendly ping pong match of artistic ideas. It is somewhere within these parallels of the personal, the political and the spectacle, that we present: "LP's or Cassettes" Lump gallery/projects has been in existence for over 10 years. It is located in lovely downtown Raleigh. Lump is an artist-run space committed to showcasing local, national and international emerging artists.
