Adriana Atema has been making paintings in Upstate New York when
she's not running with animals, feeding the horses, and tending to
her wood stove. Her work fills a void in one's psyche, where the
entaglements of indecisive decision-making co-exist in a timeless
limbo with too much coffee, too many secrets, too many places to go
and not enough time. Scenes of tenderness, love, and chaos co-inhabit these paintings on wood with fantastical birds and octopuses, colorful rainbows of light and dense layers of faces, eyes, and houses. She has come out of winter hibernation to show her work at Cinders for all of you.
